Purse Tutorial is here!
Ok, I have been working on this tutorial for the last 2 days, between my almost 4 yr old and my 17 yr olds finally school days….Whew!!! Here we go if you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me or leave me a comment! Although I do have to say I'll be on vacation starting Sunday and coming back the following Sunday Father's Day! I am so looking forward to it. Of course I'll have my Lap Top and Stamps, and…camera…LOL! 7 Days w/out stamping??? Are you Kidding??? LOL! Can't leave home with out them! Ok, back to the directions……
Trim your 12 x 12 to 8 1/2 x 11 (Cut the 11" first) this will be your handle. Score the 11" side at 4 1/2 & 6 1/2 (I was doing a 5 1/2" mark but realized no need for it) ; )
Crease the Scores w/your bone folder
Next as you can see in the photo on the 8 1/2" side you are going to mark with a pencil 2 inches on each side TOP & BOTTOM.
You will have 4 pencil marks
Then take the ruler and line it up to the 1st score line. Take your bone folder and make a a line and fold it.
Or you can fold the DSP over to make the crease. Just use a flat ruler.
Your piece should look like this.
Disregard that crease you see popping up, You don't need it.
Top & Back trim of purse Cut 2 pieces 6 1/2 x
Cute 2 pieces 6 1/2 c 1" for the Top & Back trim of your Purse. I used C. Celery here.
Add the scallops, you can also put little dots with your White Gel Pen! Looks really good, I added them.
Attach to the Middle of the top and back of your purse with snail.
Side Straps – (2) 2 x 7 score the 7" side at 1 1/8 on each side. Use Sticky Strip as shown.
Piece should now look like this.
Use snail to attach the top of the side strap as shown on both sides. No need for Sticky strip as this part will be held together later with a Jumbo Brad.
Bring up the sides and flip the side strap down on both sides.
Piece should look like this.Handle should be 1 x 12 use snail on both ends and attach to the inside of the purse. I use the inside as my guide. With this purse I put the handle all way down to the edge of the Side Strap. Do this on both ends…
Then attach your Jumbo Brads or Regular Brads and you are done.
Ta Da!!! All done.
You can also use the Bloomin Die Cuts in the Occassions Mine to attach to the sides to! Or the Scallop Punch, the Flower Punch…Oh the ideas…
For the little Pocket Card I did the following:
6 x 3 pc. of cardstock scored at 3, 5 1/8, 5 5/8 Fold and tape as shown using sticky strip. White insert measures 3 x 2. Ok, I think that is IT! OMG! I hope you enjoyed this Tutorial!
OH, The little strip of DSP on the pocket measure 1 x 3 (the size of a nugget wrapper) I would LOVE to see your creations, please send me a link so I can take a peek! ; )
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stampin',
